Practice Planner

Walk onto the field with a plan instead of making it up between drills. Pick your age group, how long you have, and what to work on — get a timed practice with water breaks built in, and for every drill: what to do and what to say.

Frequently asked questions

How long should practice be for each age?

60–75 minutes for 6–8 year olds (attention runs out before energy does), 90 minutes for 9–12, and up to two hours for 13 and up. A crisp 75 minutes beats a draggy two hours at every age.

How often should kids get water?

The plan inserts a break roughly every 20–25 minutes for the youngest group and every 30–35 for older ones — and more often in hot weather (use the hot-day setting). Never make water conditional on performance.

Can I save or reuse a plan?

Your latest plan and settings are saved automatically in your browser — come back and it's still here. Use Print this plan for a one-page version for your pocket or the dugout fence.

Where do the defensive drills come from?

Several drills use the Defensive Play Trainer — put a play on a phone or tablet, animate it, and have players call out their jobs before running it live. That's the fastest way to teach positioning we know.
